HELP WANTED: PART-TIME CHURCH SECRETARY

Position Closing Date – August 29, 2008

Detail-oriented individual needed for secretarial position at East Memphis church. 

Duties include:

• Publishing of a weekly newsletter, Sunday and special service bulletins and service schedules
• Maintenance of mailing and membership records
• General office communications including telephone, mail and e-mail
• Scheduling appointments for church business, including maintenance of physical plant and other areas as needed
• Maintenance of church calendar, including monitoring calendar for conflicts and informing involved parties if conflicts exist

Required Skills:

• Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP preferred
• Microsoft Word and Microsoft Publisher required
• Microsoft Excel preferred
• Adobe Acrobat preferred
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of information
• Must pass a criminal background check prior to employment

Compensation

• 12-15 hours a week
• $10-$12 an hour based on experience
• Two weeks paid vacation (work weeks)
• Some flexibility in scheduled work hours
